Did you know there are work habits that can harm your smile? Well, it’s true. Fortunately, there are also work habits that can help your smile! Our dentist, Dr. Laura Miller, encourages you to participate in the good work habits so you can maintain strong and healthy teeth and gums while you’re completing tasks and assignments. Those good work habits are:
-Brush your teeth each day after lunch. To make this possible, store a toothbrush and toothpaste in your desk drawer.
-Don’t eat a lot of sugary and sticky treats. This is recommended because the treats cling to the teeth and promote cavities.
-Don’t drink sugary or acidic drinks throughout the day. This can expose the teeth to sugar and acid constantly, which can cause dental issues.
-Don’t chew on pens and pencils. It’s better to chew celery and carrots instead.
-Don’t use your teeth as tools. Using your teeth to open a package can crack and fracture the tooth enamel.
-Drink water throughout the day. Doing so can wash bacteria away and keep the smile clean.
